Vera Brosgol does a good work in terms of artwork. Anya Borzakovskaya is awesome. Is assimilation worth giving up autonomy? Anya has worked hard at getting rid of her Russian accent and renouncing her background, all of this for the sake of assimilating better into her new environment. In the class this summer we have thus far Ms. Consider the best-selling Hunger Games. Anya’s Ghost won the Cybils literary award in the Young Adult category. As their friendship develops, Anya drifts away from her one friend at school Siobhan while Emily becomes disinterested in discovering her murderer’s identity.
I loved the drawings, I thought the story was super engrossing, and really easy to follow which isn’t always the case with graphic novels. Anya is a teenage schoolgirl with all the usual insecurities about her weight, clothes, friends, etc. It honestly felt more like a cool comic book! Spoiler alert from here onwards The ghost is ok at first and she was kind and friendly before the main character before she found out the truth about the ghost, Emily.

And then one day, Anya falls into a hole in the park and finds a skeleton. I mean, look at me. I started this book last night. One extra star for the ver and the fluid way nrosgol writing or drawing, I must say. Where does she get her ghost stuff? I read this a couple years ago and gave it five stars, thought it was amazing, hadn’t read anything at this level that was this good, but now, having read a lot more YA Graphic Novels, I rated this down a bit, maybe a 3.
Instead, there are just kids.

Feb 23, Deborah Markus rated it it was amazing Shelves: The only problem I ghosh with the artwork is that it looks too cartoony for this type of story, which is a horror story and usually when I think about horror stories, I think about realistic imagery.
Our biggest flaw is that we try to hide that awesomeness for god know’s why! Granted, the fact that most of them are yaoi in genre probably has something to do with it.
